AGRINATURA represents a pool of over 2,000 research scientists and education specialists covering the full range of themes related to agriculture, crop, livestock, aquaculture and fisheries production, water and soil management for agriculture, social and economical sciences, natural resources management, forestry and rural development at large through to agro-food processing, nutrition and human health.
AGRINATURA members offer unique field-based expertise in agricultural research, education and development which combines cutting-edge science in their home institutions with field-based collaborative research for development with partner institutions in countries in the South. They work on the whole range of fundamental and applied research from development implementation and its impact on the environment and cultural and economic priorities in developing and emerging countries.
AGRINATURA members work on both long-term assignments and short-term missions in more than 50 countries in different regions of the world: Central and Latin America; Mediterranean and North Africa; West and Central Africa; East and South of Africa; Asia; Oceania.
AGRINATURA has the capacity to develop "tailor-made" programmes and projects and mobilise research and education teams quickly in order to meet the specific needs of stakeholders:
- education projects for post-graduate students and young post-doctoral researchers through North-South exchanges and degree programmes;
- training programmes run by agricultural researchers and professors for farmers, community leaders, decision-makers, and experts;
- new agricultural research programmes and projects focusing on the needs of farmers and farming communities, urban areas, and emerging markets;
- development of innovative strategies for government policy for agriculture and food.
