Experience and projects
AGRINATURA’s members have been involved in a large number of projects over the last five years, including:
- Setting up joint master and PhD courses at the European level (Erasmus Mundus)
- Developing consolidated offer for scholarships for studies in Europe in ARD (Erasmus Mundus cooperation windows);
- Organising the presentation of the European resources in ARD at international fora such as the Global Conference for Agricultural Research for Development (GCARD), Montpellier 28-31 March 2010 - or the Ministerial Conference for Higher Education in Agriculture, Kampala 15-19 November 2010;
- Organising the assessment of global programmes, including a large number of expert missions held in parallel, such as the monitoring of CGIAR EU funded projects: “Monitoring of the EC Support to Strategic Agricultural Research through the CGIAR Centres for Food Insecure Countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, Latin America and West Asia/North Africa Regions” (Donor: European Commission) 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010;
- Participating to consortia for the development of research or higher education project ssuch as
- Developing a MSC in Integrated management of natural resources and rural development in four universities of the South East Asia region (INRAD) (Donor: Asia link programme);
- Strengthening capacity of universities in Eastern, Central and Southern Africa to offer quality graduate training (Donor: Edulink programme)
- Offering services to broker partnerships in new projects that respond to the development needs, through the Platform for African-European Partnerships on Agricultural Research for Development (PAEPARD).
- Mobilising its members to undertake direct researches in partnership, such as ESFIM: Empowering Smallholder Farmers in Markets (Donor: IFAD and AgriCord) 2007, 2008 and 2009)
- Undertaking consultations and specialised studies for donors, such as
- Preparing proposals for an Inter-Regional Cooperation Strategy for Biotechnology and Biosafety in West Africa (Donors: CORAF and WECARD) 2005;
- Etude sur les instruments de gestion de l’instabilité des prix (How to manage food price instability) (Donor: Agence Française de Développement, Ministère des Affaires Etrangères et Européennes, France), 2008;
- Development of an EU Biotechnology Strategy for Developing Countries (Donor: European Commission) 2009;
